The McKesson Category Management team is hiring Sourcing Manager – Hardware and Digital Workplace in either Irving TX or Alpharetta GA.
Position Description
Provides category management and strategic sourcing for the Technology – Hardware and Digital Workplace category. Responsible for establishing the enterprise-wide category plan and leading sourcing events at global, regional, and business unit levels, as applicable. This individual will leverage their knowledge of world class best practices in Hardware and Digital Workplace in order to present market opportunities to internal customers and guide sourcing decisions. Working together with IT, Legal, Finance, Asset Management and internal customers, the Sourcing Manager will ensure McKesson is purchasing the right solutions from the right suppliers with the right terms and conditions, in support of our IT transformation and aggressive value creation goals.
Key Responsibilities
Owns category management for IT – Hardware and Digital Workplace
Specific sourcing expertise managing and negotiating major Hardware and Digital Workplace solutions including hardware, software, and services suppliers, resellers, and systems integrators
Works with internal stakeholders on current and future IT objectives and business opportunities
Partners closely with Business Units, IT leaders, and other Shared Services (i.e. Finance, Legal, Risk, Insurance, Privacy, etc.) to negotiate world class supplier agreements
Converts potential projects into actionable sourcing events; drives people and processes to successful, timely completion
Creates request for information (RFI), request for proposal (RFP), and other sourcing materials to develop and maintain leverage with potential and current suppliers
Generates savings through various sourcing techniques including contract negotiations, demand management, supplier consolidation, technology transformation, and innovation
Researches industry trends to stay aware of emerging opportunities in technology, evolving supplier capabilities, and best practices for sourcing enterprise solutions
Creates an annual Category Strategy that examines the market, supplier offerings, current and future needs, and aligns with IT stakeholders on 1-year to 3-year plans
Contributes to a Supplier Relationship Management program for our top strategic suppliers
Works with other shared services groups on contract development, including Legal, Finance, Compliance, Privacy, Risk Management, Information Security, etc.
Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
Assists with developing, maintaining, and enforcing Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Conducts self and the category with the highest ethical standards, ensuring that decisions are objective and fact-based
Serves as point of escalation for commercial and contractual supplier issues
Provides biweekly/monthly updates on project status and opportunities

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience/emphasis in Business, Finance, IT, or Sourcing/Supply Chain
3+ years Strategic Sourcing or IT Operations, actively managing IT suppliers and contracts

Negotiate complex, emerging technology contracts for Hardware and Digital Workplace – to include hardware, software, and services – often combined to deliver a holistic solution
Possess and maintain current market knowledge of the industry – to include key players, competitors, disruptors, substitutes, emerging trends and innovation
