Job summary
The Amazon IN Consumer BI Reporting and Analytics team is looking for a highly driven, customer-obsessed Business Intelligence leader who will be responsible for managing a high performing analytics team including BI Engineers, Business and Data analysts. The role should be technically hands on to help assist/mentor the team to build BI solutions to support key decision making across the group at scale and help build automation solutions to operationally excel. In this role, You’ll be part of a team which on a day to day, analyzes large amounts of data, discover and solve real world problems, build metrics and business cases around key projects and, most of all, be an integral part of creating a better customer and seller experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Hire, manage, coach and lead a high performing global team of Business Intelligence Engineers and Business/data Analysts
2) Engage with leadership and diversified stakeholder groups to understand their data needs and recommend Business intelligence solutions
3) Partner with the Data Engineering teams to define the data elements and data structure that the team should leverage to enable analytical capabilities
4) Design, implement, and support platforms that provide business teams ad-hoc access to large datasets (e.g. data visualization tools for non-tech business users)
5) Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing performance metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions
6) Standardize data and report consumption across all customer groups
7) Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
8) Proactively develop new metrics and studies to quantify customer behavior and reduce defects
9) Work with data engineering, Machine learning and software development teams to enable the appropriate capture and storage of key data points
10) Conduct written and verbal presentation to share insights and recommendations to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication
11) Help establish a data science group in the org
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1) Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience
2) 8+ years of relevant work experience in business intelligence, analytics, statistics, data engineering, data science or related field
3) 3+ years in managing a team of BI engineers and analysts
4) Advanced proficiency in SQL, ETL management, data modeling, and working with “Big Data”
5) Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools
6) Experience with statistical modeling and analyzing large data sets
7) Experience in managing and prioritizing a project backlog
8) Experience in hiring, retaining, coaching, and managing a high-functioning team including both technical and business functions
9) Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail
10) Both technically deep and business savvy enough to interface with all levels and disciplines within the organization
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1) Experience executing on basic database engineering (e.g., building tables (OLAP/OLTP, ETL tasks)
2) Experience designing and analyzing A/B tests
3) Knowledge of scripting for automation (e.g., Python, Perl, Ruby)
4) Building reports using Tableau/other reporting tools
4) Strong organizational and multitasking skills with ability to balance competing priorities
5) Excellent written and oral communication skills including an ability to communicate with all cross functional teams (technical and business)
