Amazon Connectivity Solutions Group (CSG) is part of Lab 126, an inventive research and development organization that designs and engineers devices like the Kindle family of products. Lab126 began in 2004 as a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc. Since then, we have worked to produce best-selling tablets with breakthrough hardware technology as well as e-readers that have revolutionized reading.
The CSG team in Mumbai is looking for a TPM to drive technical cross organization initiatives that help customers experience our path-breaking solutions. In this role, you will be own scoping and delivering large cross team projects end-to-end on the customer acquisition , engagement and viewing experience verticals. Your responsibilities include collection of business requirements, establishing technical requirements, writing specifications, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing production and international launches. You coordinate design and implementation efforts between cross-functional internal teams across orgs to develop scalable solutions. You will be expected to make appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams. The right candidate will enjoy finding solutions to hard problems, possess a strong program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects and will have a well-rounded technical background in software development.
As a TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· 5+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
· 2+ years of technical program management experience
· Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline.
2+ years of experience in technical program management with a proven track record of delivering large and complex programs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
Exceptional customer and stakeholder relationship management skills.
A deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, and a track record of shipping software on time.
Experience with the SCRUM methodology for agile software development preferred.
