The Compliance Operations (C-Ops) organization exists to keep our customers and partners safe, protect associates, and ensure legal and regulatory compliance. The team partners with worldwide program teams to classify products and ensure Amazon’s product listings follow regulatory and legal compliance guidelines. C-Ops supports regulatory compliance requirements for Amazon’s worldwide programs such as Dangerous Goods and Global Trade Services. C-Ops has offices across India, China, Poland, Romania, Netherlands, Jordan, and Costa Rica and supports compliance related needs for worldwide Amazon marketplaces
The C-Ops integration team is looking for a motivated and data driven Program Manager with strong technical skills, analytical and communication capabilities, and a hands-on passion to dive-deep into processes that enable worldwide selection classification. Your role will be to lead and drive critical programs to remove waste from our classification processes by diagnosing the processes, identifying improvement opportunities (short-term wins, as well as long-term wins through process design/redesign), prescribing improvement strategies and guiding the improvement effort to successful implementation at worldwide level. You will maintain close relationships with our stakeholders in order to understand our highest priority execution pain-points and opportunities that have a significant, measurable impact across worldwide manual classification processes, while enabling optimization of C-Ops’ processes to drive classification accuracy and efficiency. The successful candidate will develop and drive solutions that lead to a richer end-to-end customer and operations experience, enabling selection expansion, while ensuring safety and compliance. Key job responsibilities
- Driving large initiatives, coordinating the work of internal and partner teams, including program scoping, design, data collection, fieldwork and site visits, data analysis, proposal of new standards, communication of results to senior management worldwide, business action follow-up, and subject matter expert (SME) process support for implementations of recommended improvements
- Planning and executing end-to-end operational analysis programs that result in standardization of classification processes and implementation of best practices
- Making data driven decisions and recommend strategies that achieve measurable results for continuous improvement and change management
- Delivering high quality processes that heavily rely on optimized tools, configurations and algorithms against agreed commitments
- Driving scalable end-to-end process improvement across worldwide manual classification related processes, leveraging lean management and Six Sigma or similar approaches
- Driving speed, quality, and simplification throughout by eliminating rework loops, reducing and automating manual work/ hand-offs, identifying and implementing best practices across the business, and minimizing process variance through standardization and automation
- Improving the Standard Operation Procedures for the Compliance Operations teams
- Establishing process management and governance
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Operations/Supply Chain, Organizational Behavior, or other technical field from an accredited university
- At least 4 years of project/program management experience, delivering on large-scale, cross-functional programs in support of business goals
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions; including deep knowledge of Excel and SQL
- Excellent attention to details to identify gaps and opportunities in procedures, and drive innovative, efficient solutions
- Ability to operate independently
- Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
- Excellent business judgment and a practical, common sense approach to getting things done
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of time to Europe, China, Jordan and Costa Rica
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in business domains such as supply chain management, and logistics
- Experience in working with technology teams - MBA or Master’s Degree in a related field
- Experience in Lean/Six Sigma manufacturing methodologies
- Ability to thrive in a high-energy environment where tactical and strategic activities are expected to be driven in parallel
