Exciting opportunity in the FedEx Ground IT Test Automation and Frameworks (TAF) Team for a technical leader to work across the FedEx operating Companies with focused support for FedEx Ground IT to advance API First and Software Engineering strategies and to lead the FedEx Ground IT Organization in maturing DevSecOps working from a recent maturity assessment engagement. Will also engage in adoption and implementation of ephemeral test environments.
Designs, codes, tests and deploys software in all layers of the development life cycle. Provides the necessary documentation. Works with databases, APIs, servers, networks and various programming languages. Mentors those in less senior positions.
Essential Duties:
- Experience with Test automation tools including SmartBear ReadyAPI, Delphix, UFT Mobile and UFT Developer, and others, with ability to lead, coach, and train others on the team and within the organization on the use of these tools
- Experience and Passion with Behavioral Driven Development (BDD) and Test Driven Development (TDD) to lead the organization with shifting left utilizing these principles
- Ability to lead teams to improved adoption of test data management using tools and ephemeral environments
- Excellent communication and technical leadership skills working with developer and Enterprise customers and vendors on product defects and enhancements with test automation tools
- Collaboration and technical leadership skills working with various development teams for technical recommendations on testing best practice implementations
- Experience and passion with DevSecOps best practices and ability to demonstrate technical leadership in this area to advance the FXG organization
- Experience utilizing technology to solve testing needs to enable isolated application builds, tests, and deployments and identify where development of shared services, plug-ins, and tools will aid in speed to value for consumers
- Knowledge and experience in developing virtualized services and aid in the implementation of contract testing best practices
- Presentation skills and experience teaching large classes remotely and in person including both lecture and hands-on materials with ability to refine training materials to advance the organization with testing best practices
- Ability to assess and aid in development of application architectures to understand validation points and places to separate dependent applications
- Ability to establish metrics for determining progress with testing maturity within the FXG organization and publish those metrics via dashboards and reports
- Experience with agile practices or KanBan for software development
- Strong background in Java Development desired
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree, in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. Four (4) years qualifying work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.
