Special assignment for the development and implementation of freight related infrastructure including business analyst, business process development, testing, and implementation.
Assists in the development of transportation product application requirements and designs for business processes. Participates in the evaluation of vendor applications and communicate comments, concerns and evaluation in a concise written format for management review. Assists in the development of management information systems to aid in the control and development of transportation product goals. Writes business requirements to support the business needs and transportation product tools development. Looks for gains in efficiency with transportation product operating tools, which may include items such as interfaces, development of electronic documents for customer use, reduction of keystrokes of system enhancements. Drives it projects and assists in the development of business requirements to support global operational needs to include development and mapping of country specific transportation product documents, invoice modifications etc. Be able to capture and communicate operational, transportation product, regulatory and engineering it needs and comments to support the development of transportation product tools. Uses operations expertise & knowledge to assist in the development of trans product test plan for various trans product software platforms to be used for performing the trans product business process. This would include fcc rate filing tools, trans product contract management tools, trans product operating platforms, trans product visibility tools, and trans product reporting tools. Performs execution of various test plans to ensure software meets operational needs and requirements. Validates and approves the move the test versions of transportation product tools from test to production. Reports, tracks and determines priority of missing functionality or defects ensuring deliverables are met within designated time lines. Assists in the development of training materials to support the use of transportation product tools. Delivers training to trainers, operational personnel and others in the organization on the use of transportation product tools and transportation product business process. Creates written communications in support of the transportation product tools to organizational users to communicate changes in the transportation product tools. Assists in the development of transportation product reports, system exception reports and other tools to be used to support the product. Acts as business liaison between operations management and support teams for analyzing and defining tool needs, business requirements and the functionality of systems.
High school diploma/GED. Bachelor's degree preferred. Three (3) years experience with FXL Transport and Brokerage. Five (5) years experience in the product freight forwarding industry. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with FXL production systems. Knowledge of fmc and other federal agency laws, regulations and procedures governing the transportation product industry. Strong organizational and human relations skills. Ability to travel extensively (up to 25-50%). Must have experience with MS Office, ms project, and visio.
