Key job responsibilities
- Build machine learning models for Alexa solutions
- Focus on identifying and solving customer problems with simple and elegant solutions.
- Researching, designing, implementing, testing, deploying, and maintain innovative models and machine learning solutions to make our solutions more smarter and customize the customer experience.
- Creating experiments and prototype implementations of new learning algorithms and prediction techniques
- Use machine learning best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all of the team deliverables
A day in the life
Alexa International is looking for an Applied scientist who will build ML capabilities for our international solutions. An ideal candidate will be an expert in the areas of optimization, machine learning and statistics, with expertise in applying theoretical models in an applied environment. The candidate will be expected to work on numerous aspects of Machine Learning involving challenges dealing with very large data sets and requirements on throughput.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- B.Tech degree in CS, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Statistics or in any other highly quantitative field
- 1+ years of hands-on experience in predictive modelling and analysis
- 1+ years of hands-on experience in Python, Perl, Scala, Java, C#, C++ or other similar languages
- Experience in writing python scripts and shipping models to production
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- The ideal candidate will have a Masters in Mathematics, Statistics, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field
- Expertise on a broad set of practical experience of applying techniques, including Deep Learning, statistics, NLP, Recommendation systems and or information retrieval
- Strong fundamentals in problem solving and algorithm design.
- Great verbal and written communication and presentation skills, ability to convey rigorous mathematical concepts and considerations to non-experts
