Job Description:
The role will encompass complete end to end category management from building the business model to planning launch, go to market strategies and stitching together strategic partnerships for the eLearning vertical.
Key Deliverables are across:
Customer and Market understanding:
Be the voice of the customer internally. Understand consumer shopping patterns both offline and online. Stay on top of changing trends and strategic priorities through in-depth data analysis to predict customer behavior. Develop a thorough knowledge of the market - short term and long term trends. Have an in depth knowledge of competition and vendor and ability to influence the market. Develop and implement industry best practices. Move the industry with you!
Selection and Offers
Work with teams to get the best possible selection & partners onboarded.Manage in store promotions along with partners. Make Flipkart the “destination of choice” for the customers through the largest and the greatest assortment of products on offer.
Product & Experience:
Influence product roadmap to deliver superior customer experience for these categories.
Develop and execute plans leveraging consumer understanding and showcase the right products at the right touchpoints. Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities basis consumer understanding. Own the customer experience/store creation for the category - make navigation, discovery easier. Experiment to deliver the best shopping experience with superior cataloging. Take an analytical approach in merchandising to optimize allocated properties within Flipkart with the right mix of products to maximize sale units and GMV.
Traffic & Conversion
Work with product teams to build traffic from channels like Search and recommendation. Work with marketing to identify the best RoI initiatives to build awareness and encourage trial across channels – SEM, SEO, CRM. Understand SEM, SEO and Email marketing – identify the right keywords, reduce SEM costs while increasing conversions of website visits to orders. Understand the customer and identify levers to boost the category conversion.
Planning, Pricing & Promotions
All planning tasks related to topline and bottomline levers - monthly as well as Annual Operating Plan. Develop the right pricing policy - identify opportunities for giving customers value through intelligent and limited discounting. Own both creation and execution of monthly promotional calendar baking in larger trends and events.
P&L Management
Plan, monitor, and course correct to manage the P&L and deliver bottom line targets
Partner Management
Develop deep and long standing relationship with the partner vendors - to drive relationships from the strategic to the tactical. Own the terms of business with the vendor - products, ordering, growth etc. Ensure high-share of mind from the vendor. Build deep ties. Make vendors partners in driving disruptive changes for the category. Develop and manage a fulfilment strategy with the vendors to ensure best selection along with the optimal cost and service.
People leadership
Build, retain and groom a strong team to deliver across functions. Set goals, define KPIs and ensure team tracks effectively towards goals
