Tax Analyst, Withholding Tax

Job summary
Amazon.com, Earth’s Most Customer-Centric Company, seeks a Tax Analyst to support Withholding Tax (WHT) operations in Brazil. This position will primarily support the Transportation Business on WHT tax matters and will provide tax operational support applying the tax guidance to ensure that Amazon businesses are in compliance. This role will include collaborating with other teams with the withholding tax requirements, reviewing and managing the current Transportation process, focused on services invoices, looking for alternatives to improve the process through automation of the current procedures and provide the support for internal and external stakeholders. Candidate will support a team in Brazil and also work closely with other members of the global tax department to communicate current and future business plans, obtain cross functional tax subject matter input, and ensure coordination of cross functional tax solutions.
Key job responsibilities
Foster strong cross-functional relationships with internal business partners by serving as the Taskless Tax liaison for general inquiries, escalations, communication of project/process initiatives and action´s plan.
o Work to determine the withholding tax subject on invoices (IRRF, PCC, INSS and ISS).
o Tax return and tax remittances related to the withholding tax.
o Review and management of services invoices issued against Amazon BR.
o Create the reports to demonstrate the metrics and index related to Transportation process.
o Create SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure) defining and streamlining the process.
o Review and classify invoices regarding local Carriers.
o Effectively communicate with internal and external teams and customers.
o Prepare supports needed for tax audit.
o Serve as the Taskless Tax support in Brazil collaborating with internal stakeholders regarding Transportation programs, supporting the Business with the tax requirements and automating process.
o Provide additional support as needed.
o Document management of tax filings, assisting Carriers inquiries.
o Partner with co-workers to increase productivity by eliminating duplications and review information requirements. Support process improvement and initiatives to reduce manual efforts.
o Effectively resolve and escalate issues, demonstrate a consistent timely track record of delivery.
o Lead with autonomy and independence the aforementioned responsibilities.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
o Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economy and Logistic.
o 3+ years of tax experience with a significant amount of time providing technical guidance.
o Graduate in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economy, Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
o Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, customer-focused, passionate, results-oriented, innovative, a quick-learner, self-motivated, friendly and professional.
o Exemplary relationship-building skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
o Strong analytical skills with the ability to relate processes and associated technical aspects to business partners in straightforward fashion and develop the team on same principles.
o Ability to work independently with limited general supervision, effectively prioritizing competing demands managing multiple projects to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
o Demonstrate ability to handle with Customers.
o Experience with working with cross functional teams.
o ERP experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• MBA Finance, Chartered Accountant or equivalent degrees
• Prior Tax, Accounting or Accounts Payable (AP) experience
• Experience working in or with a finance department
• Corporate communications experience
• Knowledge in Oracle Financial Application, more specifically into modules Integrated Receiving and Accounts Payable
