Are you looking for a challenging yet rewarding role in leading our Gas Control Team? We are looking for a Supervisor Gas Control to join our team! In this position you will provide strong leadership and guidance to a team of gas controller employees supporting our BC Pipeline and will ensure alignment to operational goals and business objectives. Further, this role is accountable for the safe, reliable, efficient, and environmentally responsible operations of assets in compliance with all regulatory requirements, corporate policies, related process and procedures, and management system programs through effective Control Room Management.
What you will do
Maintain timely communication with key partners on relevant business and operational impacts.
Maintain compliance for area of responsibility by monitoring and adhering to regulations, participating in audits and developing, implementing, and reporting on corrective action plans.
Manage ongoing Gas Control operations including:
Linepack and capacity management activities are consistent and effective.
Interruptible/unauthorized gas flow does not affect firm service
Customer impacts are minimized during planned and unplanned outages
Applying the real time model to pursue enhanced operational safety and efficiency.
Effective application of applicable BC Pipeline Tariff Articles.
Manage and Coordinate Gas Control Projects to ensure project is timely, on budget, incident free, and Management of Change documentation is complete.
Support the sustainment of SCADA by providing input into system enhancements, raising issues to support personnel, and actively participating in user group meetings to ensure business requirements are met.
Ensure the team is trained and capable to perform the tasks assigned.
Ensure that all employees have a clear understanding of their roles and assigned work. This includes clearly defined expectations and accountabilities in relation to EHS&S, individual performance, key programs, policies, reliability, regulatory compliance, stakeholder commitments, profitability, and cost effectiveness so that asset critical metrics are met.
Maintain visibility and accessibility with subordinates, internal clients, external customers through regular in-person interaction and other methods of communication to enhance employee engagement and ensure department is meeting client/customer expectations.
Ensure key decisions and messages are cascaded within department in an appropriate manner.
Who you are
You have the following qualifications and skills:
Power Engineering Certification, Journeyperson, or Technologist Diploma.
10+ years of directly related experience with 5 to 7 years in a Gas Control position.
Extensive knowledge of natural gas transmission activities.
Strong computer, presentation, and public speaking skills.
Excellent customer relations skills with a focus on customer service.
Working knowledge of CRM principles/processes.
Collaborative negotiation skills and proven leadership abilities.
Gas Controller certification will be considered an asset.
